GOLD-UE Bargaining Update

To the Guarini community,

I write to provide an update on negotiations between Dartmouth and GOLD-UE.

Dartmouth's and GOLD-UE's bargaining teams met again on Nov. 16. At this meeting, the parties continued their discussion of proposals covering management rights, workload, and discipline and discharge. Members of both bargaining teams asked questions and shared what they wished to address with these proposals. The discussion was cordial and productive.  Dartmouth and GOLD-UE also reached tentative agreements on union rights, professional rights and workplace conditions, and inclusive work environment.

Dartmouth is pleased that the parties continue to gain a deeper understanding of each other's positions on those matters subject to bargaining, leading to tentative agreements on the parties' proposals. Dartmouth remains committed to working with GOLD-UE to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

Our next bargaining sessions are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Dec. 14. I will provide additional updates following those meetings. An overview and FAQs about graduate union organization at Dartmouth are available on the provost's website.

Sincerely,

David Kotz
