About the Provost Division
The Provost division comprises a variety of schools, centers, and programs essential to Dartmouth’s academic mission. The Office of the Provost oversees and provides support to the division.
Dartmouth Schools
Dartmouth’s four graduate and professional schools, the Geisel School of Medicine, Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, Thayer School of Engineering, and Tuck School of Business are part of the Provost’s division. Dartmouth undergraduate school, the School of the Arts and Sciences, works closely with the provost, and the graduate and professional schools,
Centers, Institutes, and Programs
Dartmouth has more than 50 research-focused centers, institutes, and programs in areas ranging from medicine and the arts to engineering and business. Many of these are interdisciplinary and, bring faculty, staff, and students from across Dartmouth to work on complex issues. Several centers, institutes, and programs are part of the Provost division.
Administrative Units
Of the administrative units that are part of the Provost division, many fall within the purview of the Research area of the provost’s office. Administrative units related to institutional research and accreditation fall with Strategic Initiatives and Innovation and administrative units related to entrepreneurship and technology transfer fall with Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer. Other administrative units within the Provost division include:

- Dean of the College, including Student Affairs and the Dartmouth House System
