Provost Leadership Fellows Program
About
The Provost Leadership Fellows Program is an initiative of the Office of the Provost that engages Dartmouth faculty from across the institution in shaping institution-wide academic strategy, policy and innovation. Through one-year appointments, Provost Leadership Fellows lead high-impact projects that advance Dartmouth’s scholarly, educational and operational priorities.
Program Goals and Structure
The Provost Leadership Fellows leverage their faculty expertise to inform and shape a specific strategic initiative through the Office of the Provost that will advance Dartmouth’s institutional priorities. Over the course of the appointment, the Fellows will foster collaboration between central leadership and faculty communities, support faculty leadership development and institutional stewardship, and promote cross-campus collaboration and interdisciplinarity. In this advisory role, Fellows will advance their proposed projects under the support of a dedicated senior leader from the Office of the Provost, who will serve as their mentor. Fellows will engage in leadership development opportunities and gain a deeper understanding of how the Dartmouth administration operates. Each Fellow will have access to relevant institutional survey data and related systems, subject to approval by the Data Governance Committee.
Fellowships will be renewable for one additional year, depending on project scope and outcomes. Compensation may include course release, research support or additional monetary considerations.
Areas of Focus
For the first year of this program, the Office of the Provost will select two or three Fellows to focus on a particular area of strategic importance, supporting a Dartmouth-wide initiative. Potential areas include:
