Senior Associate Provost for Learning Innovation

Biography

As Senior Associate Provost for Learning Innovation at Dartmouth College, Erin DeSilva oversees two units, the Learning Design and Innovation (LDI) group and the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning (DCAL). The work of these educators, faculty developers, learning designers, media specialists, educational technologists, and online learning experts spans three core areas: partnering with faculty on course design and pedagogy, managing the technological infrastructure that supports student learning, and developing new academic programs that extend the Dartmouth experience to students in new fields of study and new locations around the world. She has worked with nearly all departments and programs across Dartmouth in various capacities, from course design through master degree program launches. Erin is committed to ensuring inclusive and engaging learning environments while utilizing innovative practice to bring communities together.

Prior to joining Dartmouth in 2015, Erin worked as an Instructional Designer at Brown University and an Educational Technologist at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where her responsibilities included training and supporting faculty, designing and building courses, and other front-end infrastructure support. Erin earned her Bachelor's degree at Simmons College and her Master's degree in Education at Boston University. She has served as a member of the NERCOMP Board of Trustees since 2021, and was a panelist for Educause's Top 10 Issues 2025. She lives in Norwich, VT, with her husband Jerry and children Ben and Josie.
