Erin DeSilva has been named interim director of the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning (DCAL), effective July 1. In addition to her interim role, she will continue her work as Associate Provost for Digital and Online Learning, and will maintain oversight of Learning Design and Innovation (LDI).
Over her 10 years at Dartmouth, Erin has been a leader in learning design and technology innovation. She was appointed the inaugural Associate Provost for Digital and Online Learning in April 2024. Erin and LDI have extensive experience partnering with DCAL, including supporting faculty teaching remotely during the pandemic, co-creating the Learning Fellows program, the Accessible Dartmouth Initiative, offering multiple institutes and workshops for faculty each year, and other collaborations. These teams share multiple values and operations, and will each continue to support teaching and learning across campus.
The Provost’s Office will establish a search committee for a faculty director soon. Meanwhile, we are grateful to have Erin’s leadership during this transition.
