Greener Together, Renewing Our Commitment to Meaningful Action to Addressing Climate Changes and Sustainability at Dartmouth and Beyond

Council Charge:

The Dartmouth Climate Collaborative Advisory Council has an initial one-year charge to help coordinate the activities addressing climate and sustainability across the academic and operational spaces at Dartmouth. There are many groups on campus doing work related to climate and sustainability (Climate Futures Initiative, Irving Institute for Energy and Society, campus decarbonization, Sustainability Office, and many academic departments and centers). This committee has the unique role of stepping back and looking at the entire ecosystem of work at Dartmouth and helping find ways to elevate that work collectively.

This committee reviews the recommended updates to Dartmouth's policies related to Freedom of Expression and Dissent (FED). In doing so, meet with various campus offices and stakeholder groups to understand current practices, further clarify policies where needed, and ensure broad input.

This committee considers how and when Dartmouth (or its component schools, centers, and departments) should speak. In short:

• Under what conditions should Dartmouth leaders make a statement on behalf of the istitution?
• How do these same principles apply to departments, centers, and institutes?
• Articulate the underlying principles for, and implemtation of, a policy on institutional statements.

In doing its work, the committee shall review similar committees made by peer institutions, and consult with key campus stakeholder groups, including students, faculty, and senior leadership.

Nomination Committee: meet 1–3 times a calendar year to review and approve nominations as well as make nomination recommendations to the MFP staff

Advisory Committee: meet once a calendar year to review the MFP program and advise the MFP on future directions

Represents and aligns all stakeholder interests across projects and initiatives affecting A&S and Guarini classrooms, and advises the Provost on planning and updating A&S and Guarini classrooms.

Promotes collaboration, integration and advancement of the arts at Dartmouth with the goal of supporting and broadening arts experiences within the Arts District and across our campus community.

The Provost's Advisory Council on Undergraduate Enrollment Management (PACUEM) coordinates data sharing and centralize trend analysis, excluding any data relating to a student's individual financial circumstances, for all aspects of undergraduate enrollment for purposes of admissions, budget, housing, and academic planning.

Charge and Full Membership

The Provost's Advisory Group on Summer Space Allocation coordinates plans for use of on-campus classrooms and residential housing during the summer months (mid-June through mid-September); forecasts future needs of campus stakeholders; establishes principles by which allocations will be prioritized; and identifies systems and practices Dartmouth should create, or change, to enable more effective summer use of space.

COMMUNICATIONS: Quarterly Reports

The Provost's Working Group on Human Remains at Dartmouth will solicit and review information from Dartmouth's schools and divisions as well as external consultants pertaining to human remains in Dartmouth's care.
