I am pleased to welcome you to the Office of the Provost website.

This has been a time unlike any other in Dartmouth's 251-year history as we have lived with a virus that has fundamentally changed every aspect of our daily lives. It has changed the way we socialize; it has changed the way we learn; and it has changed the way we connect with one another. Despite these challenges we now have students walking across the Green, professors preparing their syllabus for the year, some staff in their offices, and graduate and professional school students busy with their work. We could not be where we are today without the resiliency and the efforts of the entire Dartmouth community. For this, I thank everyone of our faculty, students, and staff.

As Provost, I am honored to serve in a variety of roles including the chief academic and budget officer. This joint responsibility ensures that key academic priorities have the support of both long and short term fiscal planning.

Along with a dedicated staff, the provost collaborates with several institutional units including Dartmouth's professional schools, academic centers and institutes, and other major academic support units and offices. Our office provides the opportunities, infrastructure, and resources to ensure that these entities and scholars can pursue their best work and achieve shared goals.

This website provides guidelines and protocols on how to get in touch with our office. Please feel free to reach out should you need anything.

David F. Kotz, '86
