Provost's Advisory Council for Arts Advancement & Integration

Charge

Promotes collaboration, integration and advancement of the arts at Dartmouth with the goal of supporting and broadening arts experiences within the Arts District and across our campus community.

Membership

  • Vice Provost for Academic Initiatives (or other Provost designee)
  • Associate Dean of Arts and Humanities
  • Executive Director of the Hopkins Center
  • Director of the Hood Museum
  • Chairs of Departments of Film and Media Studies, Music, Studio Art, and Theater (or their respective
  • designees)
  • Director of Creative Writing

Supporters, ex officio:

  •  Senior Vice President for Advancement
  •  Senior Vice President/Senior Diversity Officer
  •  Vice President of Campus Services
  •  Vice President for Communications
  •  Dean of Libraries
  •  Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Timeline

The Council Members should meet once per quarter with additional meetings as necessary.

The Council shall consult regularly with other faculty governance groups, such as the Arts and Humanities
Divisional Council (AHDC).

The Council shall meet with ex officio supporters once a year; supporters are invited to propose specific topics for the Council to discuss during their quarterly meeting agendas.

The Council will provide an annual report, including a written summary of its activities, to the provost, each spring.
